Ifeoma's books for children reflect life in Africa, full of colour and vibrancy.

Her strong sense of family and community shines through her work and her travels and research in Ethiopia underwrite this readers experience.

Ifeoma's published work is unique. Her photographic books show the positive side of the African continent. All Ifeoma's books can be enjoyed with children of any age and adults too.

Her work has been celebrated by winning a number of awards, the most recent award being the winner of the Children's Africana Book Award 2008 in the United States for Ikenna Goes to Nigeria.

Her first book, A is for Africa, for Frances Lincoln publishers, was chosen as one of the Child Education's Best Information books and Junior Education's Best Books.

In 2005, her book, Here Comes Our Bride was announced as the Best Book for Young Children 2005 at the Library of Congress in Washington DC. In the same year, Here Comes Our Bride also won the Children's Africana Book Award.

In August 2009 Ifeoma had two new books being published, Grandma Comes To Stay and Deron Goes to Nursery School.

Originally from Nigeria, she grew up in Onitsha, north of the river Niger and is from an Igbo family. Her background has had a large impact on her work and Ifeoma's charisma and enthusiasm is engaging in showing children and adults a way through life's situations.

She now lives in North London with her two children, Emeka and Ikenna and is continuing her successful work, venturing into new areas and new places in the UK and around the world.
